Our Story
We're incredibly excited...
to have you share in our special day. While we've only been in Santa Barbara for just over a year, it's been easy to call this place home. Thank you for being a part of our stories, and helping us become the people we are today. Now, let's celebrate the start of the rest of our lives together!!!!
Ryan remembers....
We met on a warm summer evening in Boise at, of all places, a wine bar. I guess it was foreshadowing for where we'd end up...the wine drinkers paradise in Santa Barbara, CA. I was working as a Smokejumper for the Forest Service in McCall, ID and Laurie was a User Experience Researcher at HP in Boise. Very early on, it was clear we had something pretty incredible developing so I stayed in Boise after the fire season was over and that winter was wonderful.
After a second fire season together, we spent a beautiful warm fall day in McCall paddleboarding and came back engaged! We were both happy the ring ended up on Laurie's finger, and not in the river.
A short time later life took a major turn after I got a job with the Santa Barbara County Fire Department and Laurie landed at a local tech company. She certainly deserves some thanks for moving to SB, sight unseen. It's been an adjustment but there's no one else I'd rather be 'doing life with'! Thanks for always being up for an adventure!

Ryan and I have certainly had 3 adventure packed years together so far! We often say that our days are way better if we get to spend them together. Ryan is a pretty humble guy, but he's such a good guy and I'm lucky to be spending my life with him.
Now that we're settling into SB we've enjoyed the beach, local hikes, the Santa Ynez wine country, and our local wine tasking rooms. If you're able to make the trip this fall, let us help you plan your visit!
